The amount of land in Indonesia consumed by fires by September 2019, has exceeded the amount burned in 2018, and is expected to increase even further. As the crisis escalates, Indonesia's environment ministry said law enforcement have been very strict through administrative sanctions, including revoking licenses and civil lawsuits.
