English for Law Practice
Work program held by the English Development division. This event consists of a seminar which is followed by a workshop, focusing on improving both legal and English skills of the participants. Through the seminar, participants can learn legal practices that are mandatory in their life from amazing speakers while also improving their English during the event. After learning the material given by the speakers, participants also have the chance to practice their legal skill in the workshop in order to further understand the skill and knowledge that they received.
Law Unplugged
Work program brought by the English Development division. It is a mixture of culture, arts, and law in which it will showcase an art exhibition, movie session, and a legal discussion.
ALSA Crushbone Competition
Signature work program of ALSA LC UGM and one of ALSA’s biggest national events. Providing young people with a platform to sharpen their English and for their voice to be heard. Be ready to compete in various competitions with a unique characteristic of “Crushbone” in which there is no boundary between varsity and high school.
English Competition
As one of the academic development divisions in ALSA, English Development has the duty to help further ALSA members’ potential in legal english. Every year, the English Development will open its recruitment for various competitions from ALSA International Moot Court Competition, ALSA International Mediation Competition, and many other legal english competitions.
ALSA Tagline
English Development division’s function to arrange words to form a sentence that shows the spirit and purpose of the ALSA LC UGM each year.
English Proficiency Test
Function of English Development which is a privilege of ALSA LC UGM’s members to determine their proficiency level. The results will be used to calculate the English ability of ALSA’s members as a standard for the English Development division to further improve the members’ legal English skill.
Legal English Glossary
Collaborating with the Multimedia division to provide information on Legal English through the compiling of useful terms and publishing it with visual publication. This will help law students to access legal English terms definition whenever they need it.
Know Your Rights
Collaborating with the Law Development and Multimedia division, Know Your Rights is a function providing information through social media and interesting visuals in regards to the legal rights of the society on a daily basis.
Webinar Series
Together with the Law Development division, Webinar Series is Academic Development’s function to further improve the legal knowledge of ALSA LC UGM’s members and the society on the current legal issue.
English Club
One of the English Development division’s functions which provides a forum for members of ALSA LC UGM to channel their interests and develop both their legal knowledge and English language potential. The theme of the discussion will change in every event so we can discuss many things within the forum.
