English Club 

The English Club is a work program from the English Development Division which provides a forum for members of ALSA LC UGM to channel their interests and develop their English language potential. English Club members can come from any division. The 2020 English Development Division staff and ALSA LC UGM members who had previously participated in an English competition under the supervision of the English Development Division were automatically registered as members of the English Club.



The ALSA tagline is an arrangement of words that forms a sentence that shows the spirit and purpose of the UGM ALSA LC that is made at the beginning of the management.



ALSA Crushbone Competition is a new event by ALSA LC UGM as a form of expansion to ALSA's biggest national event, ACDC. Providing young people with a platform to sharpen their English and for their voice to be heard. Be ready to compete in various competitions with a unique characteristic of "Crushbone" in which there is no boundary between varsity and high school!



The ALSA International Mediation Competition (AIMC) is a means to promote, incite and disseminate the use of mediation among younger generations of professionals with a mind-set of effectively resolving disputes. ALSA believes that AIMC will allow students with different backgrounds and academic training to have the opportunity to enhance their mediation skills in an international setting. 

AIMC is an educational event that seeks to encourage the effective use of mediation and the open exchange of ideas, experience, and know-how between students from different countries, cultures, generations, and backgrounds. Appreciation and respect for cultural diversity should be shown by all participants. 

The focus of AIMC is to effectively combine the use of the Mediator and collaborative problem-solving skills to successfully present the Parties’ interests and progress towards resolution. ALSA wishes to empower tomorrow’s business people and legal practitioners to better meet the dispute resolution needs of an increasingly cross-cultural and global market.


The AIMCC is a simulated hearing of an International Investment Dispute Settlement. Students from fictional cases written by professionals. After the Written Round (Memorials), selected teams will present their all over the world will send in their Written Memorials for the Claimant and Respondent of a memorial for the Claimant and the Respondent in front of a Panel of Arbitrators in the Oral Round.

Through the competition, participants will be given the opportunity to develop analytical skills and skills in legal research, writing, and advocacy and expand their knowledge on and become exposed to issues of international law in the simulated environment of an arbitral tribunal. The competition promotes networking amongst law students, encourages the exchange of ideas and perspectives on contemporary legal issues, and, in turn, proliferates the development of the law. The experiences acquired from the AIMCC carry through in later life, helping to shape successful careers in different areas of legal practice.


Law Unplugged

Law Unplugged is a pilot project that is brought by English Development Division. It is a mixture of culture, arts and law in which it will showcase an art exhibition, movie session and a legal discussion, in which the theme would follow suit each year with ALSA LC UGM’s main theme.


ELP (English for Law Practice)

ALSA English for Law Practice is a new event held by the english development division. This event is a seminar which is followed by a workshop, focusing on improving both legal and english skills of the participants. Through the seminar, participants can learn legal practices that is mandatory in their life from amazing speakers while also improving their english during the process. After learning from the seminar, the participants also have the chance to do the legal practice that they have just learned through the workshop so the participants can further understand the skill and knowledge that they received. This event is also open for public so everyone can join.


English Proficiency Test is meant for every member of ALSA LC UGM, in which this test would determine the proficiency levels of the staffs, therefore allowing the English Development Division to distinguish each and every one of the staffs. The results will be used to determine which staffs have the capability to compete in competitions as well as providing assistance to those who need help in their English Skills.

Legal English Glossary

A collaboration with Multimedia Division to provide information on Legal English through the compiling of useful terms and publishing it with visual publication. The glossary can also be accessed at any time and anywhere as it is provided via cloud storage. So that law students can easily access it whenever they need it!
