What is ALSA ?

ALSA is a non-political, non-profit association that welcomes cultural diversity and advances the professionalism and hard-working ethic that in which are the evident characteristic of Asians. ALSA has become and is continually improving as a premier association that provides the venue for bright law students to develop as future leaders and major players of Asia.

 

The ALSA Constitution, as the enabling law that creates the association, is in accordance with the provisions of the Swiss Civil Code. As provided for in Article 2 Section 2 of the ALSA Constitution, ALSA has its official seat in Zurich, Switzerland and is therefore recognized under Swiss law.

History of ALSA

ASEAN Law Students’ Association

A group of law students from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand came together with the idea of creating an organization that could promote greater understanding and appreciation among the law students of the said nations. As a result, the ASEAN Law Students' Association was born.

Vision

1. To promote an awareness of justice
2. To focus a global vision on the promising future of Asia
3. To facilitate the recognition of the social responsibilities on asian law students

Objective

1. To understand and appreciate the diversity and share the ideals of law in society through exchange and communication among Asian law students;
2. To motivate law students to develop a creative spirit through a network of joint activities among Asian law students;
3. To encourage the enhancement of the capabilities of Asian law students so as tao become internationally-minded, socially responsible, academically committed and legally skilled.
